Adobe Typekit Fonts Not Working On Latest Microsoft Sierra Os

New variable fonts from Adobe Originals. 19 October 2017 Dan Rhatigan — Adobe Typekit Blog Photoshop and Illustrator announced plenty of new features at Adobe MAX this week, include some exciting typographic features we’ve been anticipating: support for OpenType variable fonts. Another possible reason for missing fonts, if you’re using InDesign CC, is that Adobe Typekit hasn’t successfully synced your selected fonts to your desktop. If this is the case, check your internet connection, and verify that you are successfully signed in to Creative Cloud. Because fonts work with the operating system, they are not downloaded to Office directly. You should go through the system's Fonts folder in Windows Control Panel and the font will work with Office automatically. On the Mac you use the Font Book to add the font and then copy it to the Windows Office Compatible folder. To do it, go to “Assets” “Fonts”. After you have added free Adobe fonts to your Creative Cloud account, you can immediately see them in the Photoshop font menu. Use the Tk or Typekit icon to see all Typekit fonts. Mind that some programs require a reload to update the list of fonts.

  • On macOS, the default font manager is Font Book. Highlight the name of the font and then choose Edit > Disable [font] family.
  • On Windows, open the Control Panel and click Fonts. Copy the font from the Fonts folder to another location to create a backup, and then delete it from the Fonts directory. Finally, sign out of your Windows account and then sign back in to update the system fonts menu.

Then click the Retry button to try activating the fonts again.

Some programs, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office, do not automatically update the font menu when a new font is added. These applications need to be restarted before the new fonts are available for use. If restarting the application doesn’t restore the active font to the font menu, try the next steps in the troubleshooting guide.

Chrome 33 has been released on 20 February 2014, which includes a fix for the disappearing web font bug. We highly recommend upgrading to Chrome 33 (or higher) as soon as possible.

If you are still seeing issues with fonts loading in Chrome, you may be affected by a different bug in Chrome 33.

We’ve been getting reports from Typekit customers about web fonts disappearing and being replaced with fallback fonts. We believe this to be caused by this bug in Chrome, which can affect any web font (not just those served from Typekit).

The bug is most apparent in Chrome 32 and affects all platforms. It causes fonts to randomly fall back to the last-resort font, which is normally used when Chrome can’t find any of the fonts in the CSS font-family stack. The last-resort font is platform specific; on OS X a serif font is used, while other platforms might use a sans-serif font.

The Chrome team is aware of the problem and has already fixed the bug. The bug fix will be in Chrome 33, which is planned for release in late February. Please let us know at support@typekit.com if you have any questions.

Update, 08 April: Chrome 34 was released on 08 April 2014 and includes a fix for the disappearing web font bugs in Chrome 33. If you continue to see issues with Typekit fonts after upgrading to v34, email support@typekit.com and we will look into it.
