Overview
Microsoft YaHei:A Simplified Chinese font developed by taking advantage of ClearType technology, and it provides excellent reading experience particularly onscreen. The font is very legible at small sizes.
Assume that you have Microsoft Lync 2010 for Windows Phone installed on a Japanese version of Windows Phone 7. However, text in Lync 2010 for Windows Phone is displayed unexpectedly in the Microsoft Yahei font instead of the Yu Gothic font. Microsoft YaHei UI:The font glyphs are certified compliant with China standard GB18030-2000 with the font name Founder Lan Ting Hei. Microsoft Licensed the font glyph from Beijing Founder Electronics Co. Ltd. GB18030-2000
- Microsoft YaHei has been distributed with Windows since Windows Vista, and is the default user interface font when the language is set to Simplified Chinese. It aims to be more legible than its SimSun predecessor when used with ClearType.
- Assume that you have Microsoft Lync 2010 for Windows Phone installed on a Japanese version of Windows Phone 7. However, text in Lync 2010 for Windows Phone is displayed unexpectedly in the Microsoft Yahei font instead of the Yu Gothic font. For example, the text in a contact card is displayed in the Yahei font.
- Use the “Microsoft YaHei” font for all Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters. (font file not included in the extension) 2. Non-CJK characters are not affected unless they share the same font with the CJK characters. If “Microsoft YaHei” is not available, it will fall back to “WenQuenYi Micro Hei”, then to “Droid Sans Fallback”.
